Need opinions on M42 SD Heer Helmet...

Hi all,

I'm looking at purchasing my first Heer Helmet and would like some opinions/advice on this one. It looks pretty well used, but many of the examples I see on retailer sites are. Considering the condition overall, the decal looks to be in good shape.

So... what do you guys think?

I like it,do not see any problems with it.I have a couple in this condition they look great ,combat used.

Great helmet, perhaps a little bit oil can help for a great display?

Looks like it sat upside down in the water , oil will not fix this. If you decide to buy it keep it in this condition.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! Someone on another forum noticed the handwritten inscription on the liner (great eye!) that reads, "Cherbourg June 24 1944". It appears this helmet is a direct vet acquired helmet from that very significant battle. Icing on the cake
