New to forum with new to me SD M40

Greetings,

I have been lurking here for a while, time to get involved. Excuse the cell phone photos...

First up is a new to me SD M40 (Q62 lot#DK337), liner band is intact, leather long gone. Band is too tight for me to see what the date is. Chinstrap with faint RBN# is present. The decal is my issue. I cannot tell if it is a toned heer or KM decal. Opinions would be appreciated.

It is a hard one to call from the photos.
Could you get photos of the decal in the sunlite with no flash? That would help a lot.

Looks like a decent lid. I would agree with the toned heer at this stage. Add some pics of the rest of the helmet to, as in the liner etc. Looking forward to the pics

As stated, this is an authentic Quist helmet with a 'Bigfoot' decal.

Bigfoots are only found on Quist shells and they are all Heer. They are, in my opinion, the most attractive of Heer decals. I have your helmet's close cousin, a Q62 M40 with a close DN lot number.

Very nice helmet you have there.. May I ask if Q62 is stamped to the side of the helmet, or is it stamped at the rear, above the lot number?
