From what I can see original M-16 might see what's under the black stuff. I would as it could be a decent shell who knows. timothy
Looks a nice honest shell!....
Is there a way to get the black off without damaging what's underneath?
Acetone would likely do the trick.
You have to see what kind of paint is on the lid, ie ,enamels, gloss, acrylics, or car paint, acetone will not work on certain types of paint, therefore you have to test a small area, preferably the inside skirt at the rear
Dave is right, depends on the paint, but try acetone in a small spot somewhere indiscreet if you can.
Brad.
Thanks guys for the help! I'll see what paint is on it when it gets here.
