Re: Newly acquired M35
An honest late war reissue repainted model 35 manufactured by Vereinigte Deutsche Nicklewerke, AG Schwerte.
A good helmet.

maybe some paint thinner used carefully will help in removing those spots...

Re: Newly acquired M35
Very nice helmet you have there Pablo! I like it alot! I'd love an M35 re-issue someday!

Re: Newly acquired M35
How would one carefully resurrect a painted-over decal (assuming it exists)? Or should that even be considered?

Re: Newly acquired M35
Hi Pablo,
From my limited time with helmets, I'd suggest leaving your helmet as it be. Your helmet is a re-issue M35! The painted over decal is part of its charm and character and even more-so a part of its history! Your helmet is great as it is!
Just my two cents

Re: Newly acquired M35
Hey Pablo,
I would not mess with the decal. I thought about doing same thing to my reissued m35. The national color decal was covered. I asked a friend and expert on wwII German helmets. He told me to don't even try, you can seriously hurt the value of the helmet because it will be a "messed with helmet".
Forbid it happens, but you can mess up.

Re: Newly acquired M35
Good honest lid, don't touch it......you know the decal is there anyway...

Re: Newly acquired M35
Dont liberate the decal, that is destroying your helmet and its history.
