As far as blood vs rust on the liner, I truly think it might be blood.
I rarely suspect blood on military items because it seems to be the first thing that people want to believe, but in this case I really think it could be blood.
If someone thinks I am wrong feel free to chime in.
And by the way, I am not happy that it could be blood.
I get no joy out of thinking that the soldier wearing the helmet was killed.
I am merely making an observation.
