Norwegian helmet - what to do

Article about: Hi guys Annoyed from this ads?   It just received this helmet for free from a buddy of mine. What would you do with it. I keep comparing it to an ancient relic where there could be some

There's no "restoring" of these helmets as far as I'm concerned --- it's only ruining a perfectly nice piece of German and then, subsequently, Norwegian history. I can understand the itchy fingers seeing other paint underneath but, like most others have noted before me, you will only devalue the helmet, it will not look "original" in any way, just messed with... And having that on your mind will surely leave you wanting you had never messed with it in the first place

I will note that as a Norwegian double decal it's pretty nice as well.

Take it for what it has been turned into as a consequence of the war and the final victory over the occupiers, it will never be as it was during wartime again.

I would leave it as is, if you don't like it - I would gladly take it (as is) off your hands...

For what its worth (as the original post is two years old), I would leave as is, very nice complete post war Norwegian issue helmet.
