Article about: i just picked this up for about \\$60! Think i got a good deal? i really like the textured paint. marked ckl 62. let me know what you all think! ~Dean

    Absolutly ! you read my mind! ....truth is i have a used liner in the mail.. aged decals and original rivits! for my enjoyment only of course...i would never pass it off as real.

    Sweet as mate, I refurbed my first M42 shell, looks the part but would never pass it off as real. Have fun

    It wouldn't harm this helmet to strip and repaint it as that has already been done to it and it's original paint lost , the shell for $60 is ok but the paint is a complete post war makeover !!

    I agree with Paul nothing to salvage here , post war abused.

    My own feeling on lids like this is better to save the cash and wait to purchase an original period example , helmets like this once they have been destroyed have very little original value and serve little collecting purpose !! But each to his own.
