    Hi

I would really appreciate a bit of assistance on this one please.

The big question is how can I tell or be reasonably confident the cammo is post or pre 1945 ?

Throwing myself at the mercy of the forum...............

    cheers

BOTH cammo and covers are minefields!!! ........ they scare the pants off me and after 70 years of the passage of time, I just can't tell from a photo!

I am also not confident enough to comment on the camo but from these pictures the liner looks to be an aged reproduction which would raise questions about the authenticity of the rest of the helmet for me, cheers, Chris.

looks like rattle cans have been used then the paint sanded down in my opinion

Could also be some pitting under some of the exterior camo paint??

Hard to be 100% sure, but the paint looks a bit dodgy, and the rear rivet does not carry any of the tan camo paint.
Meaning to me that it wasn't there when the lid was painted.
I don't like that liner, looks like an aged repro to me.
