That's a trick you best pretend you never heard. Fake decals spotting just requires a good set of eyes and the memorisation of all original decal graphics. It takes commitment but it's not so hard once you get the hang of it. There is no need to touch decals ever.

BTW If you pull that trick on a fair , you damage it you buy it. Fake or no fake.

Correct. However, if it happens that part of the decals actually IS scraped off, why not use that to tell if its fake or not?

It would be a bad idea indeed, to do it yourself. But if the decal is as here, why not use it to tell?

I don't know if the trick is useable, but it seems like a good one to go for with a decal like this.
