i would wager this was a garrison officer lid, rarely saw service...and lived on top of his locker...... i keep coming back to this thread
    The photographs are good too.

Rob. I have to say that this is the BEST combat helmet I have seen for a long time. I would have no hesitation in buying this one....to keep...............DOh , there i go again

Hahahaha....I'll keep you in mind should I ever have to part with this one!
I too think that this one saw little action.....I have some "combat vet" helmets and they are NOT in this kind of condition.
Nothing wrong with coming back to this thread Phil! hahaha
Cheers guys! Happy to see this helmet appreciate for what it is!
    Cheers!

Love the decals mate , it's a text book eagle and should be used as a reference by helmet collectors

Uhhhhhh......How's about A LOT! I ended up selling a rare DJ armband, a Summer issue flying helmet with goggles, a KM dagger and a couple buckles to help pay for this. They aren't cheap - but I had been after this type of lid for some time! (besides....by selling off those pieces, I made a bit of room! hahaha)

Thanks for the thumbs up guys!
