Has it got a manufacturers stamp on the skirt, mine has a name and date made, my date is 3/4/1934.
The liner is similar to mine, but this does look postwar, just becsuse of the straps holding the dome pad in place
No stamp no anything very well could be post for 45.00$ I couldnt pass it up one of those Impulse buys win or loose I felt something in it so I gave it a home.

I'll have to check some reference books when I get home tonight but I think it's the liner and padding that gives it away.
Agree with you both, I was always under the impression the holes at the front of the liner is an indication of post war as well. Also the leather chin strap ring retainers might be another. Still Its a nice lid and my vote goes to a being a fire helmet
