Police helmet?

Hi there,

I picked up this helmet, along with another soon to post, at a flee market in Moscow. Can anyone shed some light on what it is?

Are there any stamps on the apron? My recollection is if it is stamped DIN with a few numbers after the letters it is post War. From the shape alone it looks like a Post War West German example to me. Jim G.

PS: According to Ludwig Baer the curved dip West German Police helmets marked DIN 19490 were introduced in 1954. If this one has that marking it is definitely post War.
