Political Leader Gladiator

Article about: I picked this up off Ebay several weeks after it became Eban. The decals on this helmet are seldom seen. The property stamp in the helmet indicates that it is the property of Gau Sachsen. Ba

interesting to know, didn't know there were already that much around.
Would be also interesting to bring them all together in one topic )
Too bad the history of those helmets has been lost.
    Would love to know more.
I got a opinion but it is just a opinion.

I will take a picture of the M34 and M35 brown painted helmets with the same decals and post it on this thread. As I first wrote, the two helmets were bought by Ray Zyla from Mohawk Arms back in the mid-60's with a huge load of material out of an Adolf Hitler Schule. I have never seen another example of either a M34 or M35 with these decals. I have only seen a couple of other gladiator form helmets and all had the Gau Sachsen eigentum decal. These must have been a unique order from that Gau for their political leaders involved with air defense.

well!! if you guys are willing to make an effort to try to find out something more about these, then this will be the second helmet in this topic

also note the not often seen variant style of helmet.

a pity the decal has been misapplied, but still a very attractive helmet.

what a super helmet M34 this one does not have the tag at the back.
    I would guess different location.
Any info ,where this one came from.
    Is this one yours?
I really like the type of M34 it is on.
I think the decal are great looking just like that.

yes it is mine since at least 15 years, and it came out a very old collection here in Belgium. Both me and the seller didn't know what it was, but I liked it and was sure it was something special.

It took years before I heard about, and saw another one.

An M34 Political Leaders helmet was acquired by a friend of mine off of ebay about 6 or 7 years ago - for an unbelievable $34 dollars!!!!! It was incorrectly described by the seller as a post war repainted fire helmet. The decals were applied VERY LOW on the skirt. My buddy recognized the configuration from his recollection of the 1968 Bozich publication entitled "Collectors Guide - German Relics - Supplement 2 - Headgear" (in which, I believe, Bob C.'s M34 and M35 examples are published) and hit a home run! I am hoping Bob posts his M34 and M35 Political Leaders helmets soon - I am going crazy waiting for them. These are fantastically rare helmets, and for me it is a thrill just to see pictures of them. Thanks to Bob and Ivan for sharing the 2 already posted in this thread. Cheers, Jim G.
