Lufty ''Flak'' lids are often overpainted in black. Not to be confused with the post war used black lids (czech fire service etc)

Here is my Lufty lid, as im sure many of you have seen the recent thread on it! But i do have a question, what is a "flak reissue". I know what flak and reissue means but im a little lost? I am considered on the "dark side" right now because i usually collect US!

Sorry Haydn, My helmet is a Flak helmet, i only know this because the chinstrap has a flak unit marking stamped into the leather, otherwise it would be the same as any other luftwaffe reissue. It is also a m35 that has been refurbished to 1940 specs by replacing the liner with a zinc one and removing the tricolor decal and eagle. Making it a reissue.
heres a photo of the markings on the chinstrap.

    regards Paul

Pablo, I think that's one of the nicest Lufty's I've ever seen! I esp like the dark liner and it's nicely named as well! Thanks for showing.

Hayden, I love to see that blood damaged liner and corpse-cut chinstrap. It's also nicely named!

Thanks for keeping the thread alive, guys!

Missed this thread the first time round so thought I'd share my pair of double decal luftys with 1st and 2nd pattern eagles (posted recently on GHW, so sorry to the guys who have already seen them).

Todd, Thanks for posting that beauty here. It's even better the second time around! Much like looking at a beautiful woman.

Chris, I'm glad you found this old thread I love the m35 DD's. and the first type Adler is in fine shape! I also see some stacking marks on one! I wonder if this sat in a depot after capitulation and capture.

Thanks guys, for keeping this thread alive I was hoping it would continue to grow over time.
I know you guys out there have more or even recent pick ups you haven't posted here yet! Please don't be shy to share with the rest of the class. I don't even care if you already posted it on another thread.
    Cheers,
    Dean.
