Great m42 Todd! I knew you were hiding more of these ! I see blood damage! Some spattering of blood on the rear liner, front of the liner where the forehead rests and the underside of the brim where the rust spots are. The chinstrap buckle side is gone which might mean its another corpse-cut!
Some people get creeped out by these but I almost prefer them for some strange reason. Maybe it's because I know it was in combat or because its has a mystery and essence of the soldier who wore it. Don't know, but I like em!
Thanks for sharing again!
Dean.
Nice! this thread has been revived, i have added this new luft lid since I last posted. Its a first pattern, double decal, unit marked et66, with a lot of damage on the tricolour side due to poor storage. the chinstrap and dome have the same unit stamps. It is also named on the liner
regards Paul
I am glad this thread resurfaced.
Here is my 2 hkp and SE Luftwaffe lids, both have been posted on here before.
Brad.
Got to show off my Lufties. The 1st one is a a complete SE64 with name and post #. This is my favorite and has been previously posted. The 2nd is a Q64 w/o strap but with a 98% adler. The 3rd is a double decal M35 SE62.
Oooohhhh ...great stuff, guys Now THIS is what I call "Internet porn"!
I'm happy this thread is still alive I know there are more out there, too! So don't be Greedy and share with the rest of the class
I know Timothy has a sweet Q66 he needs to post here! Ill pester him a bit..
Finally getting around to posting a couple. Shown below are a rare transitional, snake leg, straight leg, second pattern mail home, M40 single decal (dead mint) and a very rare Feld-Division overpaint.
I have the odd LW camo but thought the thread was sticking to non camo varieties.
My compliments on the ones posted thus far by members.
Stunning Doug. You put us to shame but its fun. I love that transitional
I've been hoping you would contribute to this thread, Doug! thanks for showing these absolutely stunning examples and variants. You were NOT joking about the minty one!! Doesn't get much better.
The mail home one is great, too. I'm sure many of these had the address sticker removed by either the original recipient or a collector/ dealer who thought it would look better to display or sell with it gone.
Also, please don't think this thread doesn't welcome luft camo lids! We don't descriminate here...we salivate
