    Default Q64 M40 Luftwaffe Helmet

I made a previous thread on this helmet but wanted to do a quick update here as I finally got the helmet after weeks of waiting. I got this Luftwaffe M40 for a great price so am more than happy with the damage to the decal. I just wanted to go ahead and post the pictures I took when it arrived here instead of the thread from a few weeks ago, any comments or info is always much appreciated and welcomed!

Nice helmet - and the damage is not too bad on the decal.
Surely a must have in any TR helmet collection.

Nice pick up. The little bit of the dome I can see appears clean. Did you check it for a dome stamp?

I didn't see any stamping there but I can examine it again to make sure

Quick question, I examined the helmet some more and noticed one of the liner pins is slightly loose. The other 2 are very sturdy like they should be if un-tampered. I do not believe the liner has been replaced as I believe it to be original to the helmet; however, I know these liner pins usually stay stuck in place pretty solid. Has this liner pin just become loose with age?

Very possible. I have a couple of helmets that shake, rattle and roll.

The front to pins look perfectly matched to the helmet but don't see the rear pin. Which one is loose?

It is also possible it was war time replaced (seriously doubt it given the condition of the helmet)

The helmet does not look put together post war as the liner matches the condition of the shell and the near perfect paint match of the two pins I can see. That said, you could look inside to see if the split pins have been re-bent.

The front pin that is on the opposite side of the decal. It’s slighty loose but the split pins are still in tact so I don’t believe the liner has been replaced or tampered with
