Hello Gentlemen,
I would like to know if someone can help me here.
I need to know if a Quist helmet (Q64) with lot number "D 197 N" was issued to the Heer or the KM ?
Thanks in advance

There is no correlation between lot number and service branch.
If the question is relating to the questionable colour tone to the eagle it may be worth trying to show a picture.
MANY toned Heer decals look gold but a TRUE KM has telltale signs that are clear to see ( and hard to describe ) and Doug & others can pick them with one eye closed!

Thanks to both of you...
Doug : is it also true for the WSS ?
Dan : I'll try to take photos of what is left of the Hoheitsabzeichen when the weather will allow it
Thanks

Hi Phillip, if it is an M40 with that lot number it is listed with known HEER/LUFTWAFFE and no decal examples. Even though that information is of little use other than there are currently no known KM'S with that number. Doug is spot on about these lot number correlations only being a guide. There are many ways that batches could of ended up going in all sorts of directions. Leon.
