questions about an M35

I buyed this one once for a few euros:

Shall I clean it? Won't I damage it too much?
Do you think the hole in the back is a bullet hole?
Is that stuff on the front right side the remainig camouflage net?

Well, actually there is some kind of exit hole. look at the picture.
It could be possible that the head stopped the bullet a bit and then it only hit the other side of the helmet. During the years, the rust made a hole through that weak spot of the helmet. ( sounds ghoulish )

I would say it's 99.9% the helmet is from a soldier killled in action

as ive already said & totally agree with Ade ! DO NOT ! clean it it will not look any better then it already does somethings are meant to be left well alone
