Hello,i have to say that even if this is a spot on "AFRIKA KORPS" HELMET the paint over is now so poor in condition that it is only going to be of a general interest.A top solid shell that is well worth looking after all that said!
Id say it shows unnatural wear. I'd pass on it as a collectible helmet.
Not a helmet expert but that doesn't look at all like natural wear to me... looks like it's been sanded or something
It does'nt instill a lot of confidence in me either, nor is it a "DAK" helmet just because it has a sand coloured camo
Thanks for the help. Yes i was thinking also that it was sanded.
I pass on this one.
This exact helmet has come up before on the forum, but I can't find the link. It is actually not sand camo, but snow camo. From the pictures I can't tell if it is original snow camo paint, but I can say the paint job is quite old. It stands a good chance in my opinion. Overall, not the best condition, not very valuable, but collectible nonetheless.

Just out of curiosity; how can you tell that this is actually an "old paint job"? Were better pictures of this one posted in this previous discussion you mentioned?
Like I said, I'm not sure if it is original paint, but the paint has a very similar pattern to paint from original camo shells like the one pictured here:
Just a similarity I thought worth noting. That is why I believe the paint job is old. Just my opinion. In any case, this helmet is not worth much either way.
