Hard to say if the helmet is ok, but as Ade said decal and paint is not original.

It's a double decal M40 which is a first red flag , in fact if you see that at a fair walk by briskly. (Unless you are really really experienced so far I know of only 5-6 original double decal M40's)
Leather and decals and painted name all bad.

oh,got it from a militaria fair.

its a bad helmet as stated usually in the case of militaria fairs the chances are the guy you brought it from will have a website or if you can't remember it get in touch with the show organisers as thay should have a list of who is running what stall at which area.
