    Hi, no I did not see this "wire wooled" re-paint! Such a shame as it looks like it was a very nice M40. Leon.

    I would have loved that M40 without the new paint job. too bad. I Wonder how many original items are destroyed in the attempt to up the prices.

    The worst part for me is that these genuine lids which would usually go for good prices are being bought for astronomical costs. The adding of fake decals/paint causes some to big at very large amounts, making it harder to buy a good condition lid at a normal price.

    If I had the time and expertise, I would have no problem stripping the paint and bring it back to how it was meant, but buying one of these fakes is just too expensive. The people who buy these pay for a genuine "rare" helmet, not one to restore.
