Red Cross helmet from Jersey, Channel Islands.

Article about: The very first pic is as good as I could do to show the paint, the camera just would notallow me a better pic.

Default Red Cross helmet from Jersey, Channel Islands.

Here is another of my favourite helmets. I have seen many over the years offered by dealers for sale and I have never found one that feels right. This one turned up privately here in Jersey and like much of the kit we find here it has never been messed with in the post war years. Even the chinstrap has traces of the white paint from when the helmet was originally overpainted. Today I only know of a small handful of these red cross helmets, they are quite scarce for sure. I hope you like the helmet as much as I do. I have had this a good many years now and it still brings a smile to my face. Seeing choice pieces like this makes you thankful to have been born on a previously Occupied Island.

Hi, it seems it has had several layers of white paint.
The liner is a fantastic one.
    Cheers.

Medic helmets were commonly painted white for visibility not for winter camo.

I'd love to find a medic lid in the woodwork. Probably a slim chance of that. I just found a double decal M35 Heer with liner and strap, both decals near 100%, only 20 miles from me. It's a total fake, lol.
