Restoration possible?

Article about: I acquired this helmet recently, a Norwegian post-war refurb. A pretty crude job, just a slap of OD paint on each side (presumably to cover the double decals) and then the Norwegian decal on

I would restore it, if you know how.
    if not, let it be.

I sometimes restore helmets, but this one should be left alone. Too much history in this helmet. IMO there is only two types of helmet restoration "paths". Real good helmets that for some reasons is missing liner and or chin straps. Then you find some originals and apply them to your helmet. Or helmets like this M35. No finished yet.
