Saeirland Helmets Anyone?
Anyone know anything about the Sauerland helmets. I was under the assumption that they were generally scavengers and took whatever they can get. Is anyone familiar with whether or not they actually put decals on helmets? I have an opportunity to trade on this if anyone can help.

The decal looks old but that doesn't mean it's necessarily genuine. The age of that helmet seems congruent throughout. I forgot to include this picture of the other side
Sorry, it is not a real one. There should be no snake in the garden (decal).
Correct; decals with the snake are always fake.
If I recall correctly, the snake is a misinterpretation of what was simply a scratch in a known genuine piece.
the helmets ok bad decal.
Beat me to it Terry, the story behind the genesis of ths "snake" in the weeds is interesting. Jim G.

That is correct. Jim G.
It's quite handy when fakers mess up like that.
I'll be filing away this little tell for future reference. Thanks guys.

Thanks for all your advice. I've never seen one so I thought it was interesting.
