Very cool and salty helmet, I like it. That story is awesome as well, imagine finding a bunker full of ww2 guns and helmets

Its a neat helmet! Its not black paint just a darker shade of green, but it does look brushed on. Probably to update it to later standards. You can see the original apple green in the dome. I like the story too... If only that bunker was still there, no telling what treasures it held!
Dark green makes sense , It's really dark even in daylight but not quite black.

Can anyone identify the maker? Maker and lotnumbers have been painted over.
I'm taking a wild guess and say ET

Excuse me for bringing it up again guys, but I've been looking at this decal for a while and keep wondering (dare I say it?) is it a toned Heer or possibly KM?

I've been doing some online research on KM decals, but this decal is mostly painted over/worn off, so with the little info that I now have I am still unable to tell.
I think all that's left to judge is the color?

It doesn't really matter that much to me if it is a Heer or KM, but I would still like to know (If it is even possible to tell).
Some help from experienced collectors would be appreciated

(The picture was taken in bright sunny daylight)
