Default Salty M35 Ex DD Kriegsmarine ET 62 Lot 4087

    Hello all,
Since I haven't posted anything in a while I want to share with you a fairly recent purchase. It is pretty salty, but complete, and all original ex double decal M35 KM. My first KM lid. It is a small sized ET 62 (which displays well with my other sized 62 helmets, and means you can fit more on a shelf )
Unfortunately the KM decal has seen better days but in comparison to the overall condition of the helmet I think it has stood up quite well to time, the national shield has been fairly neatly period removed as per 1940 regulations. The majority of wear to the paintwork is to the crown of the shell with quite a bit of surface oxidisation. The liner is nearly complete with only one damaged tongue which makes the nice clear dome stamp visible inside. I am sure that the liner cord has never been touched since it was assembled, along with the liner pins. The chinstrap is still pliable, and complete.

Hope you enjoy checking this one out,

    Cheers,

    Chris

The wear is actually very similar, do you have any interior shots of yours?

    Here you go.

I suppose the wear would have been partly due to the salty sea air.
