Hi Helmstone,i see you have joined the police!!LOLAnyway, good luck with this one, looks as though it stands a chance(although hard to say with these pictures),I to cannot see any obvious signs of artificial ageing to the paintwork and the liner looks spot on to the helmets condition. Leon.
The actual colour is very similar to one i have seen that was brought back by a British veteran from Salerno in Italy !!

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Well, he sold it out from under me. Took anther offer and didnt bother to call me. Grrrrr
PS. He said he is selling it to someone in New Jersey. Hmmmm, I think this one might be showing up on Ken B's site in the near future.
As I said mate, chin up, something else will come along.
You were right it is already on his site.

Wow, so close yet so far, "woodwork" finds do not sit long, I have had a few nice items snatched out from under me by aggressive dealers offering a fair price then selling it for double, its tough being a collector and trying to get a really good deal with intentions to keep it for self joy and not a quick profit resale. bummer but keep hunting!
