Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
Have you looked at the side skirt where your right ear would be, it may be covered in rust, either way its something that could be a spanish helmet but that terrible green paint has to come off but i dont know if its worth all the trouble

Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
It is not Spanish as these have a welded bracket. It is Hungarian or Latvian
or some other European country. The holes are for fixing a badge
to the front and as a repainted relic, it is not worth much.

Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
Yes walkwolfs quite right, thanks for the correction, must have had a brainstorm as i had a spanish one ages ago with the bracket, but if there is a makers mark then someone has drilled holes into it

Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
i would pass on this one unless it is dirt cheap

Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
Might be fun to restore if it is cheap enough, the shell looks to be in really good condition.

Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
Thanks fellows! Would $80 be considered a reasonable price?
-
Re: Says it's German WW2 helmet
If it were offered to me I would be prepared to pay $50, don't forget that if you intend a restoration for reenactment or display purposes that you'll need paint, decals, liner, band, rivets, chinstrap and drawstring. A repo liner can be $30 so if you can bargain down to $50 it'll be like getting a free liner! Good luck!
