    a few weeks back i jumped in feet first with that normandy camo before going over the pictures properly then could have kicked myself when i did as it told easy.

    whares with that lid you cant, it looks very good its the ruff textured paint thats getting good man if theres ever a fake for a filler there its right there i should think thats burned many a collector?

    man i am amazed to tell the truth!

    and just gos to show thats why i buy my lids from you

    John, I wasn't joking around, if it was taken that way. I apoligize, I really am trying to learn, just thought the shape was a little different, it is a very good fake. I probably even may have bought it, really that's why I look , read & pay attention to you and some others on here. to learn. it is a very good job whoever did it. thanks John for a good lesson.

    That's a good study object John , to authenticate camo's one has to go beyond looking at the paint.

    The first thing I do is check out everything else first and then judge the paint. No need to look further if the inside color is incorrect for that maker type or if the liner is repro. Knowing maker and lotnumber is so important also to indentify the decals , still see a lot of people just judging a helmet by how it looks.

    Patina is important as are very good HQ pictures if you are buying online. You don't want to buy one that gives you an aching feeling each time you pick it up.
