Single Decal KM.. lines on helmet??

Hello all,

This helmet has some sort of tape residue on it. The remains look old, could these be markings left by a bread strap or was it just taped long ago or more recently? Any help and thoughts are very welcome.

Looks like a breadbag strap was on there, but I don't know why
it would have transferred to the helmet, as they are made of
canvas - unless it had become damp and rotted.........
