Single Decal Luftwaffe M42, ckl66, Lot #2823

Hi guys,

Been quite some time since I've been on the forum. I've still been collecting of course, but very sparingly. College and various extracurricular activities have consumed me, but things are starting to slow down enough to jump back in here. So hello everyone!

Here is a helmet I picked up a couple of weeks ago. The paint and decal are in amazing shape, with the decal being twice-applied. It's a ckl66, Lot #2823. The liner band is dated 1943 and there is a faint dome stamp.

Unfortunately the liner is suffering from what looks like a nasty red rot. It is, however, named and unit marked. All I can make out for now is OFW (Oberfeldwebel I assume) and then the name next to it, with what I'm pretty sure is a feldpostnummer underneath.

A really pretty helmet, and I wish it could talk!
