Spurious M42 Camo

Here is a camo that is currently on eBay being sold as original. Bidding is up to $1425.00 with 6 bids, one hour left. My concerns with this helmet are as follows: artificial wear (all made at the same time), suspicious stratches (example: "Z" shapes), possible fake liner and chinstrap. I think the paint job is completely fake, the wear is not even close. What do you guys think? The photos are bad, but there is enough to base an opinion. The name looks to be ballpoint pen, and I can't say for certain but there appears to be yellow paint inside a large paint chip on the rusted metal on the first photo.

It seems to have started off as a real helmet.

Man- perhaps it's time to just become a helmet repro scammer and pay off the house quicker.....

Yeah I would agree its bad. Just looking at the inside it also looks like pigment powder was used to give it age, but its not the kind of age you would see from a helmet like this. I agree with your comments on the artificial scratches on the outside, certainly forces wear. I also dont like the yellow shade, I think its to yellow but that is just me.

Someone will be about abit of cash for this lid by the looks of it

LOL I was just saying that to my wife, there is more money in fake helmet sales on ebay that genuine!

Not very convincing, as mentioned, Z shaped scratches, doubtful wear to the air vents,
plus repetitive marks in the paint like it has been flogged with a bicycle chain or something similar.
The liner looks to have been artificially aged as well.
I pity the person who ends up paying good money for this.
