i dont know if its the angle of the shot, but the bottom is rounded. thats a red flag.

The helmet's color appears to be Luftwaffe blue.

Your thoughts are correct. The whole decal is wrong. It's details is a mix of 1st and 2nd pattern with probably no foil content.

Looks a lot like these two which are known fakes. The rune on the right is thinner that the left one. The colour is almost a perfect match as well.Aside from the slightly more rounded bottom, they are very similar.

The picture shown on the right combines both the "Q" and "ET "characteristics.
The one on the left is trying to be an "ET"
