SS "Nord" Helmet

Found this helmet and just wondering if it is authentic. The guy says it's from an Estate. It look's like the German or whoever, painted the 6th SS Mountain Division "Nord" symbol on it.

Could it be real?

That is why I ask him for more pictures ,it looks like someone tryed to put something there.
I am thinking it is a post-war add on .

WW2 GERMAN M40 HELMET Elite Mountain Division w/ Insignia

Estate Sale

Helmet acquired from old farm house estate via auction. Flaking attached tag read " Mountain Division". No other information available. No liner, no holes or cracks. Some original field grey paint still visible. Division emblem appears to have been painted over removed decal? On rear skirt numbers 4567 appear. On left side of skirt (hard to read) I believe the size and maker is ET66?

Anyone out there with help on emblem identification would be appreciated!

Never ever seen or seen a photo of an M40 with Div insignia as a decal , got to be impossible to autheticate anything like this , they always turn out to be fakes
