Thoughts on this M16?

I got this from a dealer for pretty cheap. I was told it may have been from Normandy. I believe some helmets from WW1 were reissued. I like it and was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Yeah, I was told that a Vet brought it back and removed the liner due to blood and tissue. I like the shell a lot. I like items that have a little character, so the holes don't bother me.
