Turns out, its a M35 KM!
A few days ago, I posted requesting a time sensitive assessment on a Heer M40 that I had an opportunity to buy for 475 CAD. Well I went for it, and it arrived today. As it turns out, it's a reissued M35 KM with apple green paint with grey over-paint. I'm very pleased!

A nice well used helmet, I also like it.
I have its sibling, still puzzled if mine is a Heer or KM.

If I remember correctly, grey over paint signify a shipboard helmet. I think Jim/John can confirm/dispute this.

looks from the photos to be a toned Heer decal !
From what I understand, an easy way to tell if it's a KM decal is if you can make out the border around the eagle.
If you can still make it out with a worn or painted over decal that is.
Here is my ET with dark grey/black overpaint.
