Vet bring back M35 possible Kriegsmarine

Article about: A good Friend of mine Just scooped up this beautiful M35 vet bring back helmet. Its liner pins are not loose what so ever, overall the paint looks great, and it exhibits that nice honest age

Although I'm a relative novice compared to other folk on this forum, the decal does not seem to have the deep golden sparkle that you see in other pictures of KM decals. In addition I've seen pics of heer decals where the lacquer has turned very yellow.
    Thoughts everyone?

    Heer decal IMHO

And your friend did great. An honest combat used lid for $300? I'd pay that any day

Now....it looks like there is something scratched on the inside skirt and something written next to the lot number. A name?
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    Hi Jarret
Can't tell exactly if it is a Q decal or something else. Possible ET style decal which is fine. Whatever the decal...I believe original to the helmet from what is left of it. Liner has been treated post war, but from the pics, looks original to the helmet. $300....a good deal IMO

    No...not a navy helmet

Greetings!!! first post. MY good friend here convinced me so sign up for my own account. I belong the the K98 Forum but hard to get advice from people. Sounds like you guys know what your talking about.

I Bought this helmet yesterday off Craigs list for 300 dollars. I wasnt sure if it was a nazy helmet or not. I never seen a navy one in person. The liner was never treated I can promise you that. Its a unique and bin there and seen battle helmet thats for sure. Any good value on this ? I collect k98s not helmets

Okay...if you are promising the liner has not been treated....who am I to dispute that ? It's in your hands....you should know better than I. Sorry for my incorrect assessment of your liner, Also a note....don't think the tie string is original to the helmet, might not even be an original. Just an observation Fubarr.

The reason I said your liner was post war treated is the disintegration of the outer layer of leather around the top circumference of the liner. It's a dark maroon color which looks as though it is & has been rotting away & darkening over the decades due to treatment of a leather conditioner. Where it is peeled, damaged, you can see the underlying color & texture of the leather that the treatment did not affect. (Yet)

But these are only my observations. As you can see, I am new here too & don't know much about helmets. Just thought I would toss out an opinion. Maybe someone here can correct me.

Okay...just trying to help. If you are familiar with leather...I stand to be corrected. As I stated, I don't know much about German helmets..was just an incorrect observation

Welcome to the forum by the way !!!
