Article about: Picked this one up today. A vet bringback. Unfortunately the vet left it in poor storage and the liner is missing. Displays nicely though. Any thoughts are appreciated. Again white paint . .

    Is that one prong on the swastika folded under? Looks like it's titled up by the eagle claws too. Late war production quality sure did take a hit. Though, slave labor was being used, and you can't knock them for caring little for decal application quality.

    It is funny you say that because I was thinking the same thing.
    First I thought if was scratched off at the bottom but now I think it was folded under during decal application.
    If it had a liner it would be a good lid.

    I like the mis applied luftwaffe decals. You usually see this from the Quist plant. Nice pick up. Jim G.

    I'm with Jim.
    Those decals must have been fiddly to apply compared to a shield.

    nice one , faulty application not unusual even before there was slave labour ;-)

    That white paint is surely a mystery. Appears so often on helmets it's almost to be expected!

    Nice unique original luft Agree on white paint I own a few with it vet painting house or garage and didn't think old helmet worth covering I guess. timothy
