Vet Bringback M35 DD Combat Police Helmet

Vet Bringback M35 DD Combat Police Helmet.
I picked it up yesterday directly from the vet's son.
The vet was an Army photographer.
The helmet is in salty condition but still a nice piece.
There is also a name penciled on the skirt of the helmet in 2 places and inside the dome.
Hard to read. Looks like Or.....
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but if you have already picked the helmet up, why do you need to know how much it is worth to make an offer for it? Also, pics would be of interest to everyone.
