White camo?

Hi. I posted this helmet awhile back and since then have been reading up on TR helmets. I went over it with a magnifying glass and noticed it has flecks of white paint on it. The photos are the area where they are most concentrated. Could it be camo wash that has been removed? Also, is there a way to find out where these helmets were issued to by the lot number. It is 6666. Thanks for looking.

Looks like drops of paint to me, rather than removed whitewash.

More likely it has been stored somewhere, in a shed or garage where paining has taken place and it has been splattered by paint. The SS helmet I used to own had similar paint splatters on it and they are not a sign of it having previously had a winter camo.

I rather agree with Nitram and Jerry, I wouldnt expect to see round spots, more likely streaks and flecks of paint.

Thank you. They do look rather round for a white wash. Being stored where painting took place makes sence.
