Sorry i wouldn't hold out much hope on that one.

As with many wire helmets - you cannot be sure when the wire was added. With this one, it very much looks like it has been added recently though.
For this reason, i doubt i will ever get a wire helmet.

Hi, the seller is a very well respected one, on this occasion however I too feel that this one does not tick all the boxes. I would pass, and like Nick, would probably avoid wires completely. Leon.

if it is ND price it may fill a void in your shelf otherwise I'd wait and save up. It's a valid way to attach a wire but sadly also easy to create.
That's the whole thing with wire helmets.

not my field...but logic says it hasn't been on that helmet for a while....surely the helmet paintwork would show signs of wear and/or protection where the wires have been.....but, as I say, it's not my field

I’m no expert but I have similar wire on my fence post!!
I’d leave it alone.

Wire aside its a nice M42.
If the price was OK I'd buy the lid and ditch the wire but looking at the website name I assume it's not cheap!
Did I mention I have a "thing" for M42's....

Maybe....maybe not. That's the issue.

I don't study these, but the few I have seen posted here, I have never seen it attached to the chinstrap bale.
Was this method common?
I'm just trying to learn something here.
