WWII german Helmet should I buy?

I need opions on weather I should buy this helmet or not. The person who is selling it said it was an authentic WWII german helmet and it was complete. I would really like your opions on weather you think this helmet is authentic or not. Also what kind of helmet is this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Camry, better pics are really needed but the shell looks repainted. Also notice the difference of the condition of the helmet shell as compared to the liner & interior. I'm sure you'll get more opinions. Good luck, Al.

A repainted German helmet does not command high prices.

Shame, as it looks like an honest M40. It may be possible to remove the paint, but as stated re-paints do not command high prices

It depends on how much is being asked for it?

Yea, $350 is FAR too expensive for a poorly attempted restoration! As someone above has said, it's probably a good honest piece, but it would have been better left untouched... i.e. in relic condition.

It's probably worth not much more than $100
