In an auction house catalogue........................ It doesn't come any worse than this

A Late War M43 German Steel Helmet, the shell with a grey painted finish and later applied decals, stamped 'CKI66 - 5641', the 1931 type liner system dated 1944 and sized 66 - 58, complete with brown leather chin-strap.

A snip at £50-£70 estimate. I think I'll bid on that one

Ah yes, the elusive and rare SS DD M43. I think it must be a battlefield pickup from some super soldier who is a relative of an uncle of a friend of a friend I know from the internet. I will offer 29000 dollars for this beauty. The decals alone are worth over 5000 dollars each according to the experts on eBay.

No way! You can't have it and stop jacking up the price. I already bid 5000 for that one. I think it belonged to Rommel himself. You can lmost see where the goggles once were. The palm tree decal was removed by the veteran.

You noticed the rare liner as well? That is from the lesser known Bavarischen Chokolatwerke liner factory.
