Hi, Not all of us sword collctors stick to purely TR weapons, I for one also like Imperial and Weimar items and am therefore starting a sister thread to "Sword Langets -- An Aid to Manufacturer Identification -- Eagles of the TR" in order to try and assist in the identification of sword manufacterers for those TR and other Greman swords that do not bear a manufacturer's name or logo. As with other threads which I have tried, please feel free to pass comment, opinion and critisism where warrented. I hope that you find this thread both interesting and informative
Regards and best wishes Michael Ryan

    3. Sword 124 by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum and Cie, WK&C, WKC. Crossed Cannon Artillery Officer's Lion Head. The reverse langet design is a classic indication of a WKC sword featuring the Firm's logo of a Knight's Helmet.

    4. Sword 177 by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum and Cie, WK&C, WKC. Crossed Cannon Artillery Officer's Jawless Lion Head. Although the langets are very similar to Sword 3, There are significant differences to various other elements of the weapon all of which may help to identify an unknown sword.

    8. Sword 115 by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum and Cie, WK&C, WKC. Crossed Sabres and Lances Lancer Officer's Lion Head. Although I can not prove that the obverse langet indicates an officer of the Lancers, I would suggest that as regular cavalry used swords as their primary weapon and not lances, to include lances as part of the design of the langet for regular cavalry would be incorect. Lancers on the other hand carried lances and swords. If you disagree with my logic or can show evidence to the contrary or in confirmation, please let me know.

    9. Sword 190 by Carl Eickhorn, CE. Crossed Sabres Cavalry Officer's Patterned Dove Head. This sword also includes an Eagle and Swastika in the pommel design, a feature that I have only seen on Eickhorn swords?
