Damascus presentation sword

Article about: I just couldn't resist to get this beauty. It's a French 1889 model I guess and it is a one of the nicest swords I have ever owned. I will be glad If someone here know more about this model.

    Yes, that piece of the battelfield changed quite a few times for owner.
    I found about 9 coins, otherwise tons of handgrenades and that kind of stuff..

    i have narrowed it down to 2 possible owners:
    E. Graveteau (Edouard-Rémond), chef d'escadron d'artillerie. attribution de la croix de commandeur
    ( highly decorated with the Commanders cross)
    M. Graveteau , chef d'escadron , commandant les batteries stationnées en Corse
    i have found the announcement of his promotion under the Ministry of war announcements of 1903 in a French newspaper.
    ( i have been offered a job at the CSI New york, after finding this article in the newspaper, LOL
