    Its the Blucher pattern from the field marshall series made by Carl Eickhorn

    The scabbard should be black enamel paint

    Looks like the paint was stripped for some strange reason. I used to have two of these a long time ago. Both were Dove-heads.

    odd that the paints been stripped down never seen that before its definatly worth a fair bit even with the lack of paint

    IMHO, the ballpark value on this would be $650 to $850 depending on overall condition. You've got some rust and pitting on the blade, and as mentioned the paint missing on the scabbard is very strange indeed. It's a nice piece, I'd keep it if it was me since you are inheriting it. But that's certainly your prerogative.
