Default Heer officer dove head sword - Emil Voos, Solingen.

    Hi,

Today, this sword arrived at my house
    ...my first sword ever.

The condition of the sword is good, but the scabbard has been repainted years ago.
I really like the big eagle.

I have been told that Emil Voos is a very rare maker - regarding swords.

What do you guys think of this sword?
    ...hope I did okay

After studying yours, I just had to look at my Paul Seilheimer of Solingen that I just posted. I think somebody has been copying the same design.
Was this a common practice or a standard pattern used by all makers?
Here is a comparison of the two.
    Any thoughts?

You are quite right - they look just the same.

Good question - I don't know the answer, but I would like to know.

    Hi,

As you can see on the Pictures, the grip has only 1 x twisted wire and not 3 x twisted wire.
...seller told me that this sword was "born" with 1 x twisted wire, and that the wire is original to the sword.

Is it not more common with 3 x twisted wire - 1 x thick twisted wire and 2 x thin twisted wire?

    Regards
