    Hi John, no, it is Third Reich in date.

    Dove head Heer NCO's sword. Way too much money especially when it is minus the scabbard too.

    In agreement that with no scabbard the price does seem excessive. With the punch engraving IMO not as manufactured, along with some file marks(?) on the langet. With my first look thinking that it might be a later period saber for NCO's. But then I noticed that it has a M52/79 type of blade ('rib-back') versus the fullered type with some other small details of the officer's type (senior grade NCO's were authorized Officer's models). With at least one Imperial era catalog listing a similar but not identical saber for Cavalry/Artillery. Best Regards, Fred
