    a Lovely blade Ivan!
I like the etch, not common to see such a lovely Damast blade fitted on a standard hilt.

Ivan, as the others have said this is a beautiful sword. What's also interesting to me about it is the fact that it has a more common in the Imperial era rib (or pipe) back blade. Which is paired with an Einheitssäbel style hilt which is something that was adopted during the Weimar period. Well Done!! Best Regards, Fred

Hi Stingray, I have seen some pretty good blades on this Forum and yours is, in my opinion, up there with the best. One thing that I find a bit sad, is that such a fine presentation damascus blade is paired with such an understated even plain hilt. Probably done in order to conform with dress regulations of the period? None-the-less, a fine example of a rare and very desirable piece of history!!
Congratulations and best wishes Michael R
