    Hi,

    Thoughts about this Polizei Führerdegen?

    Maker is Alcoso Solingen.

My biggest concern is the two shiny screws in the top-bracket on the scabbard.
...they look like a different type, than normally as well?

From what I seem to be seeing in the images whatever the screws might be would be the least of my worries with this example. Unless my eyes are playing tricks with me this might be one of the misbegotten descendants of the Hühnlein NSKK High Leader fakes. The blade appearing to show the work of something like a Dremel Tool © rotary engraver (or a clone that you can now find for about $10.00 - $15. 00 U.S.) that's been filled in with black paint. Maybe some new pictures will show something else - but I'm not holding my breath. Best Regards, Fred

It would surprise me, if the etching on the blade is not wartime.
...but I am NOT expert in German ww2 swords.

The sword is seen at Europe's probably biggest militaria dealer.

There is an old saying in collecting that you should judge the item by itself - not the "story". Likewise the same IMO applies to sources for collectibles that varies from dealer to dealer with some having better track records than others. Best Regards, Fred
